We will support our Son, Abey-Ollo to be Chairman, Agbonchia Community Discloses
The people of Agbonchia community in Eleme local government area have sounded it loud and clear that they will do everything possible to make sure their son who is presently the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Eleme Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Godwin Abey-Ollo is elected the executive chairman of the LGA.
The members of the community who stormed the Eleme council secretariat in their numbers also expressed their total support for the CTC Chairman's administration saying they will stand by him through thick and thin.
They further stated that by their resolve to support their son before, during and after the forthcoming local government election, no one should waste his or her time coming to Agbonchia to solicit the support of the people.
Among those who spoke for the community are Comrade Samuel Osaro, Mr. Sunday Obele Ekee.
A group of non-indigenes who were also present at the meeting pledged their support to the chairman and assured him of their continuous support. Mr. Daniel Abba who is the youth president of the Idoma community in Agbonchia and spoke on behalf of the non-indigenes said they admire the personality of Engr. Godwin Abey-Ollo and his level of transparency and therefore will give him their total support.
Responding, Eleme CTC Chairman, Engr. Godwin Abey-Ollo thanked the Agbonchia community for their visit and support, he said as their son, he will not let them down. He disclosed to them that it was God who made it possible and has brought them thus far.
According to him, if it were by human effort, they would have been trampled upon a long time ago.
Adding that there were moments when it was as if they couldn’t go further but God kept them on and has demonstrated by the appointment that he is the one that rules in the kingdom of men and give it to whomever he wills.
He further stated that the administration stands shoulder to shoulder with government of River state Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Wike to bring the dividends of democracy to the doorstep of the common man.
"This administration stands for prosperity of all, the forthcoming election in Eleme LGA will be a fight between those who believe in prosperity for all and people who believe in prosperity for few persons.
I know that when God starts something he doesn’t stop half way, he completes it. There is no uncompleted project with God, he knows our aspiration for Eleme people, he knows that we will not betray our people in any way, he knows that we want to move Eleme to the next level.
I assure you that the confidence that you have repose in me and my team will not be misplaced, we will serve you in the day and night to ensure that you get value for your effort’s I want to also assure you that as you go back, tell your friends, your sisters, your brothers and those around you that change has come to Eleme LGA", he added.
