REBELLION: WHO IS GUILTY, NIGERIA OR BIAFRA by Tari Nemi
REBELLION: WHO IS GUILTY, NIGERIA OR BIAFRA
It is not subject to debate that these entities have had a feel of this topic and one have accused the other of being guilty of the said crime.
Biafra was a region of people with similar cultures and traditions bonded together by borders knit around each other. They shared same or similar foods, dressed alike, and most importantly did businesses together as one people until the brutal British stole our sovereignty and attached us to develish creatures to be in one nation.
Our fathers fought n fought for independence but rather they instead granted us only local rule with our neighbors as care takers. Meaning that our sovereignty was not released.
We tried with every ability within us to build a powerful and free nation but the care takers were more faithful to their masters and as such betrayed our supposed friendship over and over again. They killed us enmasse in their cities, not once not twice. They envied our wealth and came for it but didn't stop killing us.
In all these, we did not withdraw our hands of friendship, instead, we subscribed to a meeting where things could be settled through a written document. This gave birth to the "Aburi Accord" which was signed by our leader and theirs with other witnesses. The meeting was properly covered by the media. Again as usual but to the amazement of our leader, the document meant nothing to them and they denounced it before implementing it.
This left us with no choice but to take back our sovereignty stolen by the British and handed over to Nigeria.
We declared a sovereign state for all our regions which included the Biafran nationalities left in the then region called the Midwest.
After this call, Nigeria ran to their masters and their masters unleashed their friends against us and gave us a bitter war.
As if that was not enough, they deceived and set us against ourselves. The war was bitter and bloody until we submitted our sovereignty for a second test.
Now, 50 years later, their stance have not changed. They kept killing us and stealing our properties.
So as a result we rose up and invoked international law for the rights of indigenous people in the United Nations (UN) which they are also signatory of.
Instead of honour it, they kidnapped our leader in the comfort of his hotel room. They tortured him and forced him to deny us like they have always done to those before him. He refused. We insisted they take him to court and when they did the court order he should be bailed and discharged of all the charges but they defied the court. They defied more courts and decided to try him in secret in their own sharia court. We cried to the whole world and because of the pressures from all over the world they were left with no choice but to release him with ungodly conditions.
Now, my question is simple:
WHO REBELLED?
Biafra or Nigeria?
Is it the Biafra who stood by signed documents or signed international laws or the Nigeria who animalistically
The answer is yours to give.
