The leadership of IYC in Ogbia kingdom headed by Comr. Amiebi Turner and the four clans chairmen today paid a courtesy call at the Palace of His Eminence, HRM King Charles Owaba.
In his opening speech, Elder Okpu thanked His Eminence for making out time to meet with them. He further introduced the leadership and assured His Eminence of their total support and to work closely with him in the few pockets of security challenges in the kingdom, saying there's a difference between character and reputation, adding that the main champions of IYC came from Ogbia Kingdom, the Maxwell Okos, Azibola Roberts, Late Oronto Douglas e.t.c all contributed to the struggle.
His Eminence, in his response assured the leadership of IYC in Ogbia kingdom that he will work with them and that the children of Ogbia have their lineage from Israel, noting that just as the children of Israel are referred to as the children of Israel, Ogbia people are also referred as the children of Ogbia. He noted that Ogbia is surrounded by bigger communities, and that it was in 1958 we had our last king, urging them to be good ambassadors and think Ogbia first.
Comr. Amiebi Turner in his speech said since we do not have direct funding, we agitate for things that bring benefits to our people and soon they will engage the oil companies in Ogbia kingdom for the way forward for the youths of our domain, and that the first zonal Congress will be held at Oloibiri before the end of this month.
Comr. Nason Patrick, Vice chairman Emeyal clan, also harped on the politics of use and dump by some bad leaders in Ogbia kingdom noting that enemies successfully invade communities were there are no strong men.
Comr. Dickson Ikegima also said that there are both the good, bad and ugly in the society and all must be carried along to give them purpose and create a balance in the society and that IYC is non partisan and as such politicians should not infiltrate.
Elder Obi also spoke.
